It does take a while to get your base up to level 5. Here are some suggestions:Don't use your diamonds like they suggest for every upgrade. You can ignore that suggestion. Most of the beginning ones are super short, so it's a waste to use those diamonds. Save your diamonds for your level 3-4 base upgrade and then your level 4-5 base upgrade. Also, make sure you do the daily login. The last day streak reward is like 100 diamonds. That's how I got enough diamonds for the last level 4-5 base upgrade speed-up.

I got credited as soon as I completed my level 5 upgrade. It definitely isn't quick to complete like the Game of War or Fire Age tasks as upgrading the command center can take hours to days for level 5. However it did credit much to my surprise and I've actually continued playing after that. One thing that may have had no impact but I did just in case was, right before the upgrade on my Level 5 Command Center completed I launched the site by clicking on the offer and logging in so that it would be fresh. Again may've had no impact but I wanted to give myself every chance for credit after the days it took to get there.
